is dedicated to encouraging the citizens and business leaders of Gautier to support the beautification and community development of our City.
A Brief History
The City of Gautier was officially incorporated in July 1986 and quickly began the process of establishing its own identity and to provide an acceptable level of community services and economic development strategies for the City.
The Mayor and Council soon determined that one of Gautier’s single greatest assets was its natural beauty. As a result, efforts were soon under way to assure that its majestic old oaks and magnolias were protected and enhanced with additional trees and plants native to the area.
In 1989 the Gautier area Chamber of Commerce was established as an extension of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. From the Gautier Chamber came the establishment of Gautier Pride, an ad hoc group, whose focus was on promoting Gautier through beautification and landscaping efforts. It was their belief, as well as the City Council and area businesses, that economic development, improved public image and overall quality of life in the City would be enhanced through beautification efforts.
All work that has been accomplished over the years has been by volunteers giving freely of their time to Gautier Prides' community efforts.
Contributions from members, area businesses and industries, along with the support of the Mayor and Council through annual budget allocations have allowed Gautier Pride and its volunteers to carry out its Mission.
